Delphi Arts + Heritage Hub
collaborating...engaging..educating...preserving...adapting...trailblazing!

This project is currently under consideration for funding through the Indiana Arts Commission. Implementation is contingent upon grant award. Grant awards will be announced July 2026.
If awarded funding, the Delphi Arts + Heritage Hub project timeline will run from July 2026 - December 31, 2028.
The Delphi Arts + Heritage Hub will bring new life to historic spaces while expanding opportunities for arts, culture, and community connection.
At the heart of the Hub is the adaptive reuse of two key historic properties. The 1907 Interurban Station will be transformed into a museum and flexible arts venue, featuring exhibits on regional transportation history alongside space for performances, exhibitions, and community events.
Just across the street, The Arts Place building will become a vibrant maker-focused arts center, offering studios, classrooms, and an artist-in-residence program that supports creative entrepreneurship and workforce development.
The project extends beyond these buildings to activate surrounding public spaces. Initiatives like the Milroy Mile in Riley Park, a StoryWalkTrail, and the Delphi Arts Garden will bring arts programming outdoors—creating inviting spaces for public art, learning, and community gathering.
Together, these efforts form a connected cultural district that celebrates Delphi’s heritage while fostering innovation and economic vitality. Through strong partnerships and community support, the Delphi Arts + Heritage Hub will enhance quality of place and ensure these historic assets remain active, inspiring spaces for generations to come.
Community Impact
This project is designed to advance key community and regional goals:
-
Expanding Access to the Arts - Diverse programming will ensure broad community participation across ages and backgrounds
-
Supporting Local Artists and Creative Economy - Dedicated space and programming will provide opportunities for artists to create, exhibit, and engage with the public
-
Preserving Cultural Heritage - The adaptive reuse of the Interurban Station and the Delph Lumber Company building will safeguard important historic assets while making them accessible and relevant
-
Strengthening Regional Tourism - As part of Delphi’s growing cultural landscape, the project will attract visitors and contribute to local economic vitality
-
Fostering Community Connection - The Hub will serve as a gathering space that encourages shared experiences, storytelling, and civic pride
Why This Project Matters Now
Delphi is at a pivotal moment of reinvestment and revitalization. The Arts + Heritage Hub builds on this momentum by ensuring that growth is rooted in culture, creativity, and community identity.
Without strategic investment now, opportunities to preserve historic assets and expand access to arts programming may be lost. This project represents a timely and impactful step toward a more vibrant and connected future for Delphi.
