Carroll County Courthouse--First floor.
As beautiful as is the exterior of the courthouse, it pales in comparison with the interior. This view captures the marble columns and the mosaic tile floor. The mosaic tile rosette on the floor of the rotunda repeats some of the design elements from the stained glass dome overhead.
Note the symmetry in the design elements carried through from the stained glass dome segments to the wall pilasters; and note the elegant railings on the second and third floor balconies. Graceful curving stairs with oak and cast iron railings are visible in this view from the stairs leading to the third floor.
Stained glass panels adorn the ceiling of the Circuit Courtroom on the 3rd floor of the Carroll County Courthouse.
