Annual Recognition Award ...

The DPS Recognition Award honors an outstanding contribution to the preservation of an historic structure in the greater Delphi area. It is presented to a property owner or to an organization that has had a property nominated by a DPS member during the previous calendar year. The award is a framed certificate from the DPS that is suitable for display in the property. A bronze plaque to be mounted on the property may be purchased through the Society for a nominal cost.

Properties are judged on the following:

  • The property is greater than 50 years old.
  • Renovation should remain true to the building's original architectural style.
  • Shall be judged on the exterior of the property only.
  • Must be located in the greater Delphi area.
  • Need not be a residence--a factory, school, church, or other structure is eligible.
  • Need not be recently, or ever, restored.
  • Need not be listed on the Carroll County Interim Report or National Register of Historic Places.

If you are a DPS member and would like to nominate a property for the DPS Recognition Award, complete the Nomination Form.
